Using CODESYS Edge Gateway

To pair the CODESYS Edge Gateway with the powerIO systems and the CODESYS Automation Server, you must first put the gateway into maintenance mode. The article below explains which steps are necessary for this.

Enable/disable Edge Gateway Maintenance Mode

1. Navigate to the IP address of your powerIO device: http://<IP>:8080

2. Click the "Password" field and press Enter to sign in or click "LOGIN".

3. Navigate to "Applications"

4. Click the gear icon next to the application.

5. Select the "Gateway" configuration

6. Now adjust the settings in the "Gateway" configuration file.

Enable:

• To enable Maintenance Mode, set the value to 1

Disable:

• To disable Maintenance Mode, set the value to 0

7. Apply the setting by clicking "SAVE"

8. Restart the application so that the configuration is applied.

Please note that this also restarts the CODESYS Runtime. Without a restart, the setting will not be applied.

Connect Edge Gateway

1. Navigate to "Tools"

2. Select "Edge Gateway" and then "Connect Edge Gateway"

4. Check the status of the Edge Gateway

In "Configuration Mode" it is shown whether Maintenance Mode is active. If it is inactive, enable it as described above. Otherwise, no configurations are possible. Active:

5. Enter the Server URL and click "Check /Refresh"

6. A new window will open. You must enter the login credentials here.

7. Now you can assign a name to the Edge Gateway. Clicking "Connect to Server" will establish the connection to the Automation Server.
